I had a GT head, but after crack testing it showed some cracks and was advised not to use it.

16 April 2022 Rear suspension modification

Rear leaf springs have been reset. The second leaf I wont use for now, but may need to add if the power upgrade causes any lock issues. Second leaf wasn’t de-cambered that well, a bit rough. Pedders did the work.

Installation.

New u bolts were used, ones with enough thread, and 5 deg wedges as there was a small vibration at 60km due to the lowering. The only issue is now the diff nose points down a bit. Will seek professional advice.

Took the time to clean up the rear leafs one more time, cleaning the eyes and greasing everything up both front and rear. The rears already had new bushes.

Also had to adjust the coil overs as the car sat a bit lower due to the leafs not taking as much load.

Only issue is the diff is now leaking, 1 if 3 items not rebuild, the diff, gearbox, and engine.

17 January 2022 New rims

New rims and arrived from JBW 7 x 13 – Minilight, Colour: Gun-Metal Hi-Light, -7 offset.

Un-packing and test fitting…

Checking front height to lip from rim, hoisted vs sitting on the ground

Checking rear height to lip from rim, hoisted vs sitting on the ground

With the above info, there is a ~45mm difference between being hoisted (wheels off the ground) and seated.

Based on a 180/60r13 tire specs created a card board cut-out and added the 45mm to to a very basic precheck with new rims.

The front looks to be fine, but can add some camber if required.

The rear will be tight, just clearing the lip and just below the inner wheel arch. I will need to roll the rear lips to avoid rubbing, the cut-out is vertical but in reality there will be some bulge. I can roll the lip back about 10mm if required.
